Upon request I give presentations on artificial intelligence to a broader audience (in Dutch or English). I typically cover (some of) the following topics:
- History : How has the development of AI historically evolved, and what lessons have been learned along the way?
- Understanding : How does modern AI work, what actually happens ‘on the inside’?
- Brain : What are the similarities and differences between AI and our own brain and thinking?
- Future : What does the future of AI depend on, and what should we pay attention to (when using it)?
If you are interested in a presentation, feel free to contact me through email.
Reviews
‘Thomas delivered the keynote talk at the HERUG.nl conference and presented attendees with a surprising perspective on AI. A deeper understanding of human intelligence reveals what’s actually happening under the hood of AI. Thomas conveyed this in a clear and engaging way.’
Mark van Dijke, Team Lead Functional Management ERP
‘Our esteemed colleague, Thomas Moerland, presented his book ‘From IQ to AI’ for Young Academy Leiden, a community of early-career researchers at Leiden University. Thomas is an excellent presenter who can explain complex concepts to a broad audience in a very accessible way. After the presentation, Thomas went into depth answering questions, both about the technical aspects and about the process of writing a book for a general audience.’
